1. Imagine the Future: Have the team visualize being a year in the future with the project either failing or succeeding.

2. Identify Fears and Hopes: Ask each member to write down what fears or hopes they had that led to this outcome.

3. Discuss and Align: Share these thoughts to uncover hidden fears and align the team on how to address them moving forward.

One note of caution: I’ve found that the oblique, playful nature of the exercise is crucial. If you strip it back too far so it’s close to “everyone share your hopes and fears” then you’re very unlikely to get many hidden hopes and fears.

Helpful to hear that!

My fear: Folks get overwhelmed with content/instructions and don't take the first step. So... The idea here is step 1, iterate, evolve ;-).
